About StatistX

StatistX provides a graphical user interface to the tested statistics program statist.
The latest StatistX version is 0.4.0.
The original statist is a small stable C-program, that was tested by students and scientists. StatistX uses statist as internal kernel to perform the actual calculations and to create some of the output.

Note

This software project is no longer maintained. I am not sure if it is still possible to compile StatistX on modern Linux distributions. However, the core statist is still under development (as of Jan. 2006). If anybody is willing to continue the development of StatistX, please let me know! Free Software Award for StatistX

StatistX and GToolKit have been awarded with the Intevation-Award for Free Software in January 2002.

New Features of Version 0.4.0

StatistX 0.4.0 contains statist 1.0.1 with a patch extending the features of histograms. Histograms can now display percentiles or frequencies. Change the behaviour of histograms in Standard->Histogram->user defined
See CHANGES for additional features.

Features

At the current state StatistX can read ASCII data files, perform a couple of statistical tests and regressions on the data and print the results either as plain text into a window or produce Gnuplot prints on the screen. It should run on most Unix derivates.
  • Histograms with user defined or automatically generated classes
  • Outliers plotted on a Box & Whisker Plot
  • Tests: T-Test, U-Test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov-Test, Four-Field-Test ...
  • Regressions: Linear regressions, Polynomial regression, correlation matrix, ...
  • Probit analysis
  • Printing and saving of Gnuplot graphs
  • Gnuplot accessible via StatistX
